To know or not to know

The seeker says, “I do not know.”
That takes honesty.

The master says, “I do not know.”
That takes a mystic’s mind that knows things through non-knowing.

The disciple says, “I know.”
That takes ignorance, in the form of borrowed knowledge.

– Anthony de Mello

Don Juan

– Rabindranath Tagore

Unshaken by the wind

As a mountain is unshaken by the wind,
so the heart of a wise person is unmoved by all the changes on this earth.

– Buddha

All things work for the good

We can walk through the darkest night
with the radiant conviction
that all things work together for the good.

– Martin Luther King Jr.

Things we see when awake

We are more curious about the meaning of dreams
than about things we see when awake.

– Diogenes

If you wish to drown,
do not torture yourself with shallow water.
