Happiness is Two Wheels for Many People
If you live in the United Kingdom, you will notice the high number of big bikes in the summer months, often whizzing by at high speed and that’s because many people are passionate about motorcycle riding. If you have a passion in life, no matter what it is, then you will be able to handle the many pressures of 21st century life, and for a lot of people, the day when they can uncover their precious bike is the day they long for.
Big Bike Riding in the UK
To ride a superbike, you need to pass the theory and practical riding tests that allow you to ride bikes of any size, which can either be done together, or over a few years, whichever you prefer. Ideally, start with something small; search online to find used bikes at Wheels Motorcycles, a leading UK dealer of bikes of all sizes. Much like your car, the bike needs to be taxed, insured and if older than 3 years, have a valid MOT certificate and with the right driving licence, you are good to go.
The Freedom of the Open Road
This is what appeals to big bike riders who live for those summer bank holidays when they can head off to a rock concert, or watch one of the motor racing Grand Prix events at Silverstone or Brands Hatch. We often have great summers in the UK, with clear blue skies from the end of May until the beginning of September, which really allows you to plan some amazing trips. We all have different ways to find real happiness, which is great.
Both you and your partner can enjoy great country rides in the summer and with many campsites all around the country, you can get away from it all during the long weekends we have in the British summer. People who have a passion in their life can better deal with the stresses and strains of 21st century living and it is very healthy to sit astride a motorcycle for a few hours, with the wind and the fresh air.
Motor Racing Events
Often, the big bike rider loves to watch the MotoGP and the many other bike racing meetings that are held all over the United Kingdom, and there’s always the Isle of Man, where you can watch guys racing through the quiet country lanes at ridiculous speeds, which is not something to try. If you are planning on joining them, book your tickets online and do that well in advance, in order to avoid disappointment.
Why not go and see your favourite band on your bike? There are camping facilities not far away and that makes for a cheap stay, which will likely to run into the following morning. Of course, nothing can be done until next summer but that does leave you time to plan for 2021, which should see the end of the pandemic. Make sure to check for Covid-19 updates prior to going anywhere, just in case there are travel restrictions.
Taking to the open roads on two wheels is what many people live for and they will take every opportunity to get out and about on their precious motorcycle, at least during the summer.
