3 Tips For Finding Peace During Times Of Global Uncertainty

With the year that everyone has had, it’s no wonder why people are feeling like there’s more stress and less peace in their lives. But despite all that might be going on around you, there still are ways that you can look internally and find some joy, peace, and solace that you might be missing externally.

To help you see how this can be done, here are three tips for finding peace during times of global uncertainty.

1. Try To Come To Terms With Having Less Control

One thing that we all have learned more about this year is that any sense of control we thought we had in our lives was more or less an illusion. While the future has always been uncertain for everyone, the reality of this uncertainty is more stark than we’ve ever experienced.

To help you come to terms with this, Kenneth Berger, a contributor to Medium.com, shares that one thing you can do is to strive to get more comfortable with having less control.

And while this can be challenging, allowing yourself to loosen your grip on things a little bit can actually give you the freedom to be more flexible and find a little more peace in your life.

2. Try To Be A Little Kinder

Although we’ve never really been able to tell what type of problems people are facing just by looking at them on the outside, it’s safe to say that most people have suffered through some kind of loss this year.

While some may be upset about not being able to visit a loved one in a care facility or dealing with the loss of a job, one thing you can do to help ease these burdens and concerns is to be a little kinder to everyone you interact with.

Not only should you be offering more kindness to the people around you, but Ed and Deb Shapiro, contributors to the Huffington Post, share that you should also be giving this grace to yourself. You’ve likely been going through things that you’ve never had to face before, so being gentle with yourself will help you feel more peace as well.

3. Try To Only Focus On The Most Important Things

If nothing else, something that many people have learned this year is how to prioritize things in their life. While many things might have seemed important previously, losing so much and having to go without can really show you just what is most vital for you to hang onto.

And once you pinpoint these things, Dr. Suzanne Degges-White, a contributor to Psychology Today, shares that focusing most of your attention on those things and the joy those things bring you will help your life be more peaceful.

If you’re looking for some ways to find more peace in your life after a tough few months, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you achieve this.
