To behold something amazing, something without explanation and have enough faith to believe in its reality is to believe that miracles happen in the world. Sometimes the smallest of miracles happen in our midst and we are too blind to see them. Too entranced with the world around us, too busy to notice little wonders before us.
Miracles don’t have to be big, marvelous occurrences. They can be the simplest of things – when a long lost friend turned enemy suddenly reaches out and rekindles the friendship; when a newborn child who started out weak suddenly finds the strength to latch on properly at his mother’s breast to nourish himself; when a student at wits end gets an encouraging word from one of her classmates and finds strength once more.
Little miracles are often ignored but they happen every day. Miracles happen for a reason. We usually pray for miracles to happen and as long as we keep the faith and never tire of waiting, we will see them through. But every so often it’s the wait that most of us aren’t willing to endure. We are too impatient and so we try to find solutions to our problems or worse, try to run from them.

In this day and age, we are all too caught up with the reality of the world that we forget to notice and appreciate the little wonders of our world. It’s time for us to open our eyes and our hearts to the wonders of the world and maybe we will start to see how miracles are happening in our lives, even at the most unexpected time. They happen to everyone, not choosing race, gender or social standing. Miracles are truly wondrous to behold and those of us who are lucky enough to be aware of their occurrence are blessed.
